With a career built on financial education and personalized tax planning, Mike Kelly brings deep expertise in Estates & Trusts, Tax Advisory, and nonprofits organizations to Hillberg & Company. A Turlock native, Mike joined the firm in 2025 after successfully running his own practice for over three and a half years, where he built a strong reputation for guiding small business owners and new entrepreneurs through early growth and long-term planning. Mike brings sixteen years of professional accounting experience to the table.
A few years into his accounting career, Mike began speaking at high schools and universities about the importance of financial literacy. Later, he launched an educational YouTube channel on the topic, earning recognition from CalCPA for his teaching excellence. Mike enjoys simplifying complex tax topics and helping clients make informed financial decisions. Because of his connections and YouTube channel, Mike works with clients across the country in over twenty states.
Mike’s motto is “If you treat people right and genuinely care about what they are trying to accomplish, everything else will fall into place. People expect us to figure out the numbers, but for most of my clients, their greatest asset is working with someone they can trust with their finances and forming lifelong relationships.”
Outside of work, Mike enjoys hiking and spending time with his family.
